Course Information
Founded in 1892, County Louth is a classic 18-hole seaside links golf course that blends natural terrain with strategic design. The current championship layout was shaped in 1938 by noted architect Tom Simpson (with Molly Gourlay) and has remained largely unchanged
Baltray plays as a par-72 measuring approximately 7,031 yards from the back tees. The routing unfolds across nearly 200 acres of seaside duneland, with two nine-hole loops that sweep through ever-changing wind and terrain — so no two holes feel exactly the same.
County Louth Golf Club, commonly known as Baltray, sits on the scenic north coast of County Louth at the mouth of the River Boyne estuary, just north of Drogheda. Perched amid unspoiled coastal dunes with panoramic views over the Irish Sea and surrounding countryside, Baltray is roughly a 45-minute drive from Dublin Airport, making it an excellent choice for Ireland golf itineraries along the east and north coast links routes
