Perched dramatically on a rugged promontory in County Cork, Ireland, Old Head Golf Links is one of the most breathtaking and iconic golf courses in the world. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on all sides, this championship course offers a truly unforgettable experience, blending challenging play with awe-inspiring views. With its cliff-top fairways, world-class facilities, and rich Irish heritage, Old Head is a must-play destination for any serious golfer.

Course Information 

Construction of the course began in 1993, involving a team of renowned designers. The course officially opened for play in 1997.

Par 72, stretching over 7,150 yards from the back tees. It comprises five par 5s, five par 3s, and eight par 4s, with a minimum of six tees per hole to accommodate golfers of all skill levels.
Hole 4 ("Razor's Edge"): A 427-yard par 4 that runs along the cliff edge, demanding precision to avoid the Atlantic on the left

Hole 12 ("Coursean Stage"): A 564-yard par 5 starting with a drive that skirts the cliff, culminating on a ridge-top green overlooking the ocean .

Old Head Golf Links is situated on a dramatic headland near Kinsale in County Cork, Ireland. This unique location offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean from every hole, as the course extends over two miles into the sea .
The climate at Old Head Golf Links is characteristic of Ireland's coastal regions, with variable weather patterns that can change rapidly. In May, average daytime temperatures range from 14°C to 16°C (57°F to 61°F), while nighttime lows can dip to around 7°C to 9°C (45°F to 48°F) . The area experiences a mix of sunny intervals and cloudy periods, with occasional showers. Wind is a significant factor, often influencing play and adding to the course's challenge.
