Tralee
Set against the wild beauty of Ireland’s southwest coast, Tralee Golf Links is one of the most dramatic and unforgettable links courses in the world. Originally laid out by Arnold Palmer, this iconic course winds through towering sand dunes with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, delivering a pure links golf experience at every turn.
Course Information
Established in 1984, Tralee Golf Links is an Arnold Palmer–designed masterpiece on Ireland’s southwest coast
Tralee Golf Links is a classic out-and-back links layout carved naturally through towering sand dunes along the Atlantic coastline. The course features 18 holes of traditional links golf, where the routing follows the contours of the land rather than forcing artificial shaping.
The front nine eases golfers into the experience, winding through rolling dunes with wide fairways that encourage strategic positioning off the tee. While playable, these holes demand respect for the wind and reward thoughtful shot selection.
The back nine is where Tralee truly shines. Hugging the coastline, the course becomes more dramatic and visually striking, with several holes playing directly along cliffs and beaches. Elevated tees, natural amphitheaters, and ocean-side greens create unforgettable moments, especially as the Atlantic winds intensify the challenge
Tralee Golf Links is located on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, along Ireland’s spectacular southwest coast. Set between towering sand dunes and the Atlantic Ocean, the course enjoys a truly remote and scenic setting, with panoramic views stretching across Tralee Bay and the surrounding mountains.
As a true links course, conditions are shaped by nature. Coastal winds are a constant factor and can change direction throughout the round, adding both challenge and excitement. The turf is firm and fast, encouraging the traditional running game, while natural rough and deep bunkers punish wayward shots.
Weather can be variable, often shifting quickly from sunshine to mist or showers — a hallmark of authentic Irish links golf
